MSTS DAYS

THE REUNION

More on the reunion coming later which will occur over a four day period, Friday through Monday, immediately after the Barrett docks in San Francisco at the end of its "MacArthur Cruise", so called because of his famous utterance, "I shall return." Hundreds of former crewmembers and passengers are eagerly looking forward to the reunion and are gathering pictures and videos of their Barrett experience and are prepared to share, visually and verbally, those unique experiences.

This may never amount to the site that I would like for it to be. The graphics capability is quite limited. I am working on it to see if I can get it to do better and am considering hosting it with someone else. Use this site in conjunction with classmates.com for the moment. But thanks to a recent conversation with Megan in techsupport I may have a way of making this come up to an acceptable level.

The website's investigative/research staff is working to ascertain the identity of the anonymous benefactor who is restoring the Barrett and who was formerly a member of the Military Department. He may have owed some of us money or, at least, a favor. Perhaps a complimentary berth (not in the troop hold) on the "MacArthur Cruise" as the "maiden" voyage from New Jersey to San Francisco has now come to be known among the website staff. See the page "BARRETT NEWS" for all the details of the restoration.
